FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS Morten Alfred has been performing his music throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, and Japan, written for Danish and international magazines and websites, and worked as editor, journalist and DJ for Danish Radio. Morten just wrote the manuscripts for a number of TV portraits of Danish traditional musicians, and is now the host for the world's only online radio program about Danish roots- & folk music (Folk Denmark at www.den2radio.dk).

MORTEN ALFRED HAS BEEN PLAYING the guitar in the international recognized violin and guitar duo Haugaard & Høirup (www.myspace.com/haugaardhoirup) for 10 years. The duo won a large number of Danish Music Awards (Danish "Grammy"), and did release 7 albums. Haugaard & Høirup stopped performing in 2008.

SINCE HE STARTED TO PLAY MUSIC, more than 30 years ago, Morten Alfred has been working with his father, Fin Alfred, with whom he has released several albums and won a Danish Music Award (Danish "Grammy"). The two of them recieved a Danish Music Award (*Danish Grammy' in 2002, and in 2009 they released a new album of some of Fin Alfred's many songs. MORTEN ALFRED is now playing the guitars in the duo SONNICH LYDOM & MORTEN ALFRED HØIRUP. Sonnich is a wonderful harmonica- and accordionplayer, and the duo is working with a quite unique repertoire. This repertoire is a mix of traditional Danish tunes from Sonnich's repertoire, as well as the duo's own compositions, and some 'new' more and less traditional songs from Denmark. Sonnich Lydom & Morten Alfred Høirup has known each other since the beginning of the 80's, and they have been playing Irish and French-Canadian music together in different bands, but this is the first time they go together in a duo, only playing Danish music. MORTEN ALFRED HAS BEEN TEACHING exclusive guitar master classes and workshops on festivals, art centers, camps, universities and music academies all around the world, including The Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), The Carl Nielsen Academy of Music (Odense) and so on. He is also a project manager on different musical projects, supporting Danish musicians travelling in the world.
