About Me

About me musically: I have been playing live in the band Soma City Ward for the past 6 or 7 years (no longer) playing synth and djembe in the drum n' bass style. I've been a synth programmer and player since the age of 7, a guitar player since 4, and a musician since the very start. It's my native tongue, english comes second. I have been mucking around in writing various electronica tracks for 10 years now, and you've unwittingly stumbled upon my output area. My musical objectives are simple - keep it free. There is no label, no management, no cost to me and no cost to you. I make music anyways all the time daily and don't want anything to do with making a business out of it. I do like it being heard in as good a format as possible. If you spin in a live venue or just appreciate high fidelity, contact me for higher bitrate, wav or ac3 files. The 4 tracks up top are only the 4 latest, Launch the player for about 40 more tracks, all m2 on random.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Me, sometimes Sj adding vocals, and one time Evelyn (da cat...) walking on the synths. I play pretty much everything, from keys to guitar to brass... well I have a trumpet but I suck at it. Hand percussion is my most fluent medium, works out well writing beats and grooves into the machine.
Influences: All sorts of anonymous Drum N Bass, Trance, Breakbeat, big beat, I have in mix tapes from back in my younger days. DJ Icey, Goldie, Adam F, Concord Dawn, ShyFX & T Power, Dillinja, Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method. Rap/Hip Hop - NWA, Ludacris, Missy Elliot, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, 2Pac, Biggie, Big Daddy Kane, The Roots, Dead Prez, Pharell, Timbaland. On the funk front - I loves tha funk!!! Parliament, Bootsy, Kool & the gang, Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone, and I am a huge WeFunk Radio fan - check it on shoutcast. I used to play in the hard rock band Soma City Ward so rock and metal are influences too - Pink Floyd, Tool, Soundgarden, RHCP, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Ben Harper, Sublime, Big Wreck, Monster Magnet. On the Jazz front - Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, and of course my freinds whom I have played with as well.
Sounds Like: instrumental electronica. My current setup includes my computer as center starring an E-MU 1820m audio dock, a roland JP-8000, a rhodes MK-80, a gloss black and pearl 2000 Fender Strat, Traynor 50w 2x10 tube combo, Sj's pink Fender 3/4 scale bass, a 1950'5 Harmony acoustic dreadnought guitar, a Simon & Patrick cheap acoustic, and a hand made small body cutaway acoustic, 2 djembes, a Stanton str8-60 scratching turntable, a harmonium, a trumpet and a fiddle. There's also piles of old samplers and stomp boxes, a tube eq, 16 channel mixer, 400w p.a., that I don't use much any more except for live stuff.
