About Me

I'm an emerging technology professional with a science background and a passion for music. The professional part can be tedious, but it allows me to enjoy my passions.I also enjoy wine and food. If you ever get the chance, Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful places I've been. My job requires me to travel all over the continental US, so I do have a few places to compare it to.I've lived in Chicago for the last 5 years. I'm the youngest of 4. My oldest brother (by 14 years) gave my older brother (by less than 2 years) and I records to listen to when we were very young. We mostly listened to the Beatles and the Monkeeys. When I got older, around 10 years old, I remember my oldest brother giving me an 8-track of Muddy Waters I wasn't sure what it was but I liked it. It opened a world of possibilities. I have been playing bass off and on since 1989. I have been playing most recently for my brothers band BP http://www.bradpeterson.com

My Interests

Music, wine, food. Simultaneously is OK.

I'd like to meet:

People who realize that it's not about winning, it's about being happy.

Music:

The good kind. It is difficult to summarize what types of music I enjoy. I believe that it is hard to describe what I enjoy and especially why. I guess I would say I like music quality that is interesting. Perhaps it would be better to list some of the artists I am listening to currently: Jeff Buckley, Wilco, Cracker, Gram Parsons, Coldplay, Nada Surf, Sufjan Stevens, Guster, Beck, Wheat, Radiohead, and the Beatles to name a few.

Movies:

A Clockwork Orange, Magnolia, Moulin Rouge, I Spy, Spinal Tap, The Matrix, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Big Lebowski, Going Places(that is the english title)...

Television:

I don't really watch regular TV. I do Tivo The Office, Enterprise, South Park and various movies.

Books:

I am currently reading Radical Son by David Horowitz and just finished Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut.

Heroes:

I have many heros. Here are the first ones that come to my mind (in no particular order): Nikola Tesla, Werner Heisenberg, Albert Einstein, George Harrison, Stewart Copeland, and Jeff Buckley.
