Rafael

Rafael Picorelli holds a BA degree in Music from the University of Puerto Rico and a MA from the New York University in Music Therapy. Rafael Picorelli was born in Puerto Rico. At the age of 9 he began formal studies in classical guitar. At the age of 17 he went on to win an award to study classical guitar in Spain. In his extensive career as a composer, arranger and musician, he recorded and arranged seven albums for the renowned folkloric icon of Puerto Rico “Tony Croatto”. He brought the Puerto Rican Music Folklore to be performed at the Carnegie Hall. In his two CD's, “Emotional Ties” and “Brisa Playera”, he explores a new music genre by combining classical, smooth jazz, and Latin rhythms. Mr. Picorelli is currently teaching in NYC.
