writing, painting, singing, sleeping, playing in the rain, driving to good music w/ minimal traffic, hanging out with friends till the sun comes up, swimming at night, proving someone's assumptions about me wrong, being able to see the stars, exposing and ridiculing racists and ignorant folk alike, a great cup of coffee, environmentally friendly friends, a conversation that last hours but seems to only take minutes, the moments when you're waking up but you're still sort of dreaming, brushing up on my guitar skills, blue candy, painting to great music, talking to my best friend when I need things put into perspective, being there for her when she needs the same (even though I am not nearly as good at it as she is), brilliant minds and brilliant colors, the perfect margarita, my birthday being on 4:20, My Family, being on the cusp of Aries and Taurus, girls who like girls who look like girls, a stout vodka tonic, learning, growing, introspection, being goofy, embracing my inner geek, Autumn, the color perwinkle, Being outside, geniune people, and connecting with someone (it doesn't happen often.) Oh using lots of commas and parenthesis when I write, and the look on my kitties faces when I catch them doing something naughty and they try to play it off and look all innocent.
I'd like to meet:
Artists who want to collaborate artistically, People who are interested in being interesting, and your pets.***Please do not equate my sexual orientation with an invitation for a threesome, regardless of how hot your girlfriend might be, I'm not interested in being a part of anyone's sex life except my own****
Music:
Sound? Check.
Tori Amos, Bjork, Radiohead, Lamb, Esthero, Lots of non-commercial hip-hop, D n' B, jungle (especially Juniper), classic rock, oldies, pretty much everything but country or tejano.
Movies:
The Dark Crystal, Edward Scissorhands, scary movies of all kinds (the Excorcist being the all time favorite), anything Jim Henson or Brian Froud ever worked on, Tim Burton's style is great too (I can forgive Planet of the Apes) and his frequent usage of Johnny Depp (I wish I had frequent usage of Johnny Depp....)doesn't hurt either
Television:
Family Guy, The Simpsons, House (on Fox, the main Doctor is such a blunt, wonderful character), Heroes, Drawn Together, I really try to not watch so much T.V., but sometimes I just like to zone out and try to turn off my mind for a while. I don't have cable anymore, so no more Discovery channel or Animal Planet.
Books:
Just finished a great book entitled, "He's Scared, She's Scared," about comittmentphobic relationships and how to recognize one's own patterns in fucking up a good thing.
finally getting around to Tori Amos' book "Piece by Piece"-she is a very wise woman with enlightening thoughts on relationships with others and with the self.
At the moment I am getting into older Stephen King stuff (his new stuff is just not doing it for me), Andrew Vachss, old V.C. Andrews, Faulkner, Salinger, Orson Scott Card, recently got way into Castaneda, the list could go on, but anytime I get to read something I want to read rather than have to read for school is a good time for me.
Heroes:
I really admire my parents, they came from poor nieghborhoods and no one really expected much out of them. Everything they have, they deserve because they worked their asses off to get it.
