I am here for Friends

About Me

Attractive, literate, professional, financially and emotionally secure 43 year old divorced male living in Northern Virginia. I love to read (Faulkner is my favorite), yak on the phone, spend completely unjustifiable amounts of money at fancy restaurants, and listen to music (Marley to Mozart, although I have been on a huge Baroque kick lately). I am 5'11", 170 with brown hair and blue eyes.

My Interests

Books, music, dancing, getting stamped and pierced, les Chaussettes Rouge (2004 World Series Champions, baybeeeeeee), double entendres, and strong bright women.

I'd like to meet:

I've already met her -- and she's amazing. I think I'll keep her.

Music:

Mozart/Haydn (I can never tell them apart), anything Baroque (particularly Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann and Handel), all reggae and island music, all live music, just getting into classic jazz and blues.

Movies:

The Godfather; The Godfather II; Animal House; Young Frankenstein; Arsenic and Old Lace; Vertigo; Casablanca; Witness for the Prosecution; The Bridge on the River Kwai; Twelve Angry Men; Double Indemnity; Key Largo; Pulp Fiction; The Unbearable Lightness of Being; Sunset Boulevard; Tout les Matins Du Monde; Jean de Florette; The Shawshank Redemption; Little Miss Sunshine.

Television:

Whoever came up with the idea for ESPN Classic is a genius.

Books:

The Sound and the Fury; As I Lay Dying; Absalom, Absalom; Darkness at Noon; The Great Gatsby; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; The Remains of the Day; A Confederacy of Dunces (perhaps the funniest book I have ever read); The Constant Gardener; Alias Grace; The Plot Against America; anything by Ed McBain (RIP), Alice Munro, Elmore Leonard, John le Carre, Walter Mosley, Margaret Atwood, Philip Roth, George Pelecanos, Tom Robbins, Owen Parry, Michael Connelly, Laura Lippman, Harlen Coben, Jeff Parker, Tim Dorsey, James Ellroy, Patrick O'Brien, George McDonald Fraser (go Flashy!!), or Alan Furst.

Heroes:

My grandfather the tailor. Oh, and Pam.
