About Me

Dave Younger, band leader of the Dave Younger Band (formerly the Younger Brothers) and lyricist Bill Hail have renewed their long standing collaboration and are once again producing memorable songs. The purpose of this MySpace site will be to reacquaint Country Music fans with Younger-Hail's style of writing, and to introduce new songs as they are written. ************************************************************ ***** NEW IN 2009!!! ************************************************************ ***** Dave is starting to take voice/guitar demo work on at the home studio. If you're a songwriter who isn't the strongest singer on the block, and you'd like a good, clean, professional demo for a VERY reasonable cost together with a quick turnaround..contact Dave through this site! ************************************************************ ****** We're excited that Hank Grant (check out his myspace) is recording some of our songs in Nashville for his new album "A Bible and A Bus Ticket" which is scheduled to appear any day now. You can click on Hank's icon/picture in our favorites...we wrote "Stuck Again" and "The Picture" plus six other songs for his album. Bill especially put a lot of his heart and soul into this project! Our song "What I Wouldn't Give" which we co-wrote with Hank & which Hank recorded has been selected to appear in the upcoming movie "Like Dandelion Dust", premiering on January 9th at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Bill and Hank will be attending the premier as guests of the film's producers. Band Members: The Dave Younger Band, when they get together for a show, consists of Dave Younger, bassist Eddie Kendrick, steel guitarist Bobby Black, Drummer Steve Pefley, guitarist Craig Pexton, and fiddler Michael Ray. Younger-Hail Songwriters, are Bill Hail of Hennessey, Oklahoma and Dave Younger of Jackson, California.
Influences: Dave and Bill's influences include Bob Wills, Merle Haggard, Web Pierce, Lefty Frizzel, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens, Ray Price, Tony Booth, Hank Cochran, Johnny Bush, Waylon Jennings....we could pack this entire page, but you get "The Picture". We also appreciate and admire many of the current artists in Country Music.
Sounds Like: Younger-Hail Songwriters are a roots-influenced Country Western team. Dave Younger, as a singer sometimes has a hint of Ray Price-meets-Waylon Jennings-while -they-were-having-a-smoke-with-Jim Reeves....and like everyone else in the industry, he WISHES he could sound like Keith Whitley or George Jones.
