Patch world is the first tribal and improvising great choir in Italy!

This is quite a young project, born in January 2000, conceived by Sabina Manetti.
The group consists of 25 elements and works in experimental fashion on the voices, the rhythms and on the body movements.

The singers are, in fact, equipped with long decorated reeds which they tap with a short stick, thus superimposing percussion phrases and choreographic elements upon the simple use of their voices.

Sabina Manetti has made the choice to work on a tribal repertoire with the wish to widen her own musical and artistic horizons as much as the ones of the choir and the audience.

By this, one should acquire the necessary means for reducing the distances which separate the people in an every-day life which becomes more and more excessive and far from the primordial essence of man. Some songs are taken from antropological recordings and are adapted and arranged by Sabina in polyrhythmic keys and following circular schemes for a mixed choir from 3 to 8 voices and percussion.

The color of the harmonic timbres changes in accordance with the origin of the musical play: from the uniformity and strength of polyphonic songs of South Africa and Makedonija to the heterophony and guttural sounds of the songs of Native America or of the tribes of Central Africa, until the somewhat nasal head-voices of the Indian songs and the maiden voices of the Polinesian Islands or other small and lost places like the Ladakistan etc...
