NOLA HIP HOP REVIVAL PROJECT

About Me

WELCOME! By coming here, you are showing an interest in the dying art of hip hop in this city of ours.

So I go by the name D~Funk't,
Since being in this city, I've met DJ's, MC's, Breakdancers, Graffiti Artists, Radio Personalities, Spoken Word Artists, etc. all staples in the hip hop community... All in there native environments...
Everyone who shares the same love for hip hop as I do, So I want to do my part to help rebuild the the scene down here, to (from what I hear) what it formerly was. All of us together, must be able to come up with someone...
ENTER MYSPACE <~~~ (networking="">..
Why don't I just try to gather as many people down for the cause, and start the ball rolling on making some changes... there are so many talented people out here, tons of them, but we gotta stand up ya'll, we have to be seen... So lets stand up together...
I plan on this doing a few things...
1. Introducing fellow heads to each other, to inspire more collaborations
2. Getting a group of dedicated people together, and figuring out how we can get more events planned for our culture to be expressed at (Battles, Cypher Parties, Graffiti displays, more open mic nights, etc.)
3. Find people who are willing to educate in these different forms, we need to start teaching the children our choice of art, before they get so far into the overwhelming mass of Crack Rap, Bling Rap, Commercial Rap...
4. Simply add something else positive to uplift the city
Thats our mission I guess...
PHASE 1: GATHERING OF THE MASSES
Right now we are just trying to gather the people together to make this happen...
The only thing that I ask of you all is to spread the word, give people the myspace address, tell them to friends up, tell them to join the group, just get the people you know who could help involved...
I'm working on a badge of some kind to put on your page to let everyone know you are involved, and link directly to the page, look for that here in the next few days...
Thanks everyone who already has joined, I have a good feeling this is going to be the start of something beautiful...
