About Me

THE RELATIVELY CALM IS NO LONGER A WORKING BAND.
Please contact either
Betsy Shane's new project, Pink Flag
or
Tony Traver's new project, Salt To BittersThe Relatively Calm formed in 2003 as a result of Betsy Shane and Tony's meeting. They played the crap out of a few venues until October 2004 when they opened for The Butchies at NC pride, then Tony had to go back to Florida to find himself, so Betsy Shane went to Germany to find beer.In 2006, Tony came home, and now they're ready to play the crap out of a venue near you. In 2007, Jon Hubbard arrived to bang the skins as only Jon Hubbard knows how.Tee shirts for Pre-emptive strike are $5 on clearance. E-mail [email protected]. They're cool, regardless.

THE BRAINS
..
Betsy Shane is the classically trained, ass-kicking multi-instrumentalist with what we call "the ear." She is what we affectionately refer to as the "band jew" because she is business minded (at least, the most business minded in our band) and half jewish.
THE BRAWN
..
Anil Aktaran is a total badass. He could play for this band in his sleep. He is gifted in just about anything having to do with computers and is fairly quiet when he's not beating the crap outta the skins.
THE BEAUTY
..
Tony T Raver wanted to be the brains, but let's face it: he's the pretty boy. However, he doesn't fuck around with the guitar. No, sir. Notorious for breaking a string on every other song whether it be during a practice or live show, Mr. Raver is a fantastic spectacle only to be believed by seeing it with your own eyes.

Influences: Any indie band pitchfork has creamed its pants over at some point.

Sounds Like: Fun
