About Me
Jack Leavitt has been acknowledged as a major force in the West Coast music industry for over 40 years. His experience began in 1967 as founder of the Silver Bullet Concerts, a production firm which was active in the San Diego, California area. In 1968, he produced the first "festival seating" concert in that market. In 1970, he produced the first outdoor concert with Pink Floyd at U.C. San Diego. This event is notable for its pioneering use of hydraulic lifts and portable generators for a concert production. In 1972, he created the "Ballgame/Concert" format by staging a live concert in conjunction with a sporting event at San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium. That event featured Carlos Santana and Boz Scaggs in concert following a San Diego Padres vs. Chicago Cubs baseball game. Also, at this event for the first time in Major League Baseball history, Jack introduced rock music played on the P.A. in between innings, instead of the usual organ music. This is now standard practice for all sporting events such as football, basketball, baseball, etc.By 1998 Jack entered the Latin market with an outdoor concert titled "Las Tres Voces de Oro de Mexico". This highly acclaimed concert event was also seen as a television special in 13 U.S. television markets and received very high ratings. In 1990, he coined the phrase "Rock En Español" and produced the first Rock En Español Tour of the United States and Puerto Rico featuring Miguel Mateos (Argentina) and Duncan Dhu (Spain). This tour set records wherever they played.Jack has remained active in producing events in every major Southern California venue from the Forum, Los Angeles Colliseum, Hollywood Bowl to the Rose Bowl.Jack has produced concerts and tours by Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Beach Boys, The Eagles, Grateful Dead, Bruce Springsteen and many others. For the last eight years Jack has produced racing/concerts after the Long Beach Grand Prix races with another first. On Friday, he roars the crowd featuring a Rock En Español act and on Saturday he pushes the crowd over the edge with a rock, pop or punk act with an average attendance of 10,000.
