About Me

I'm a private detective who lives and works in Grand Rapids, MI. You can read about some of my exploits in NightShade. My biographer, Craig Alan Hart, tends to get a litte dramatic sometimes, but it makes an interesting read. Craig also contributes a lot of material for the blog, as he is a much better writer than I am. I go out and do the actual work, then he sits down and writes about it. I'm kidding, of course. After seeing the process up close, I actually think Craig has the most difficult part of the deal.
NightShade is scheduled to officially release from Sweatshoppe Publications on Sept. 17, 2007. Craig's taking NightShade on tour this fall. I'll try to keep you guys updated here, but you can always visit Craig's website for up-to-the-minute details. You can also read an excerpt from the book, sign the guestbook, and do all sorts of other cool, web-sitey things.

NightShade is now available from Amazon.com!

Critiquing Your Critics; Part I

by Craig Alan Hart I believe that, in general, writers are some of the most sensitive and fragile beings on the planet. We don't mean to be, really we don't, but at heart we're artists, and artists cr...

Things I Hate In Books II: Convenience

by Craig Alan Hart We've all been there, I'm sure. Reading a book that has been great up until this point. "This point" just happens to be the climax of the story and the hero/heroine is in the tighte...

Things I Hate In Books I: Dreams

by Craig Alan Hart Don't let the title fool you. I actually love books, in general. I write them, read them, listen to them on CD, use stacks of them for a camera tripod, and give them as gifts. But t...
