Ayatollah Fancy and Thursday Night Allstarsss

About Me

Described by one fan as being, "A cross between stadium rock, world music, and an elementary school play." Ayatollah Fancy and the Thursday Night Allstars have a unique style of World Jam-Rock blending World instruments like the Persian Tar and Dumbek with a two bass rock band. Melding melody, comedy, and improvisation over tight grooves, the Thursday Night Allstars and Fancy Ayatollah have the energy, vigor, and spirit of a well-seasoned rock band. Recognizing the ever-increasing standards that any live performance must be up to, the Ayatollah and TNA superseded the norm not only with their eclectic sounds, but also by becoming the band that is starting their own religion! Without a doubt Thursday Night Allstars are a full entertainment enterprise. Leaning towards a rockudrama in the style of Spinal Tap, they create a complete live show experience. Though a humorous ploy, TNA uses their new religion, Selfishtology, as a vehicle to raise and introduce important issues as well as silly ones with an overall message of unity. Each member of the group hones/honors the role of a different religious figure of varying cultures, TNA’s hope is to create a sense of harmony between all creeds, sects, and cults under the penned Selfishtology, their humorous “ideology”. Already the group includes the aforementioned Ayatollah Fancy, the Monk of Funk, Rabbi of the Beat, Pontiff of the Piano, Friar of Forte, and the Nun of Fun. “We take our music very seriously, but not ourselves,” claims front man/Persian Tar player Piruz Partow or better known as the Ayatollah Fancy. Employing this mesh of audio and visual performance, they continue to entertain and proselytize their fan base with their claim to fame: “Sermon of Selfishtology”.
