Born January 5, 1992, Bryan J. Williams (B-Jay) was born in one of the most well known neighborhoods in the North West quad of DC, Wood Terrace on 7th & N Street. At the age of six, he then moved to a new environment, which was not too much different than his old one, and known as Florida Park. This is where he earned the nickname B-Jay. This rough neighborhood groomed B-Jay into the lyricist he has become. At the tender age of 14, He began rapping and thinking of making it big in the music industry. He received encouragement and support from his mother Kim, father Troy, family members, and friends. As an impressionable young man, he started hanging with the wrong crowd, which led to a run-in with the law. Things began to change for young B-Jay; he viewed his encounter with the law as a wakeup call. This inspired him to write. This experience brought out what would be called his best work at that time; songs like “Lord Lay Me Downâ€, “My Swagg†to name a few. He soon learned the best way to express his emotion was through his music. His experience has helped him develop his writing skills as a storyteller. His flow instantly puts you in mind of a younger version of the NOTORIOUS B.I.G (Biggie) his lyrics has a maturity to them that most artist after years of rapping still haven’t achieved, At age 17, B-Jay has been called a lyrical prodigy. As he continues to home his skills by opening for numerous local and national acts he remains humble. With hopes of being, a role model for other to follow, B-Jay seems to be on the right track to success.
