I was born at the tender age of...well...zero, in a middle class section of Liverpool, England called West Derby. In the corner house of a cul-de-sac, second floor, front room, on a street named "Broad View" I was born.Legend has it that only 2 doors down, "Frankie" of "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" was born. Thus my first alleged brush with rock stardom. "Relax don't do it...". My family then moved to the Kirkdale section of Liverpool where I attended Westminister C.P. School.My earliest music memories come from this period. I was in the choir, took piano lessons and formed my first band.."The Golden Satellites". We were ten years old then and the only song we knew was "Yellow Submarine" (we subbed the words "golden satellite" for "yellow submarine") and thought we were quite clever.I moved to the U.S. when I was twelve years old. It was halfway through sixth grade and it was traumatic! "Class, I would like to introduce Robert. He just moved here from England and talks funny...". I had arrived from the toughest city in England, I was the "new guy", I talked funny and I was wondering who was going to kick my ass first! Three years and a few ass kickings later I picked up a guitar for the sole reason of impressing a girl. I think I did impress her initially but I ended up falling in love with the guitar. The rest as they say is... tragic. I have been struggling ever since.My mother used to say, "Get a real job!" Sound familiar? And I did get a real job! I am a somewhat accomplished chef (it pays the bills...most of the time). After all I have to help support a wife, a child and a mortgage. But the harsh reality is that you would rather be playing music! I don't want a day job! But like 99% of all musicians out there... I must still "work" for a living.
