About Me

Damion "Dami D" Watson was born the 21st of May 1982 in Kingston Jamaica. He grew up in the Moreton Park community but attended the Jones Town Primary school where his artistic gift as a singer originated in 1991. He was also a member of the school choir where his vocal skill was honored. He later moved on to St. Georges College in 1994 where he was noted for entertaining his classmates with his unique talent as a singer, performer and songwriter. Dami D was further encouraged by his peers and teachers to develop this unique ability by his exposure in school talent shows, concerts and fetes.This motivated him to pursue his goal of becoming one of Jamaica’s most prominent young acts in the entertainment industry. Hailed in 2001 by the Jamaican Daily Gleaner as being in the running for superstardom. He had already compiled a number of original songs of which "No More War" was one. No More War was released by Ashquad records in August 2002 and became the leading anthem during the national election campaign at that time. Featured on Television Jamaica’s " It’s Morning Time, Best of Smile Jamaica". Dami D and his song were elected to entertain the Prime Minister of Jamaica and the members of the Ministry of National Security and Justice at the national Youth Peace Conference. In 2003 Dami D participated in the Caribbean Music Expo/United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organizations (CME/UNESCO). Artist in Development Workshop and Showcase where he was tutored and equipped with tools to manage his career in the music industry.
