About Me

Originally formed in December 2006 by Tino (Dead Radio Transmission) and Rafael, a story of hope is a four piece band from Wuerzburg, Germany. When the two guitarists first met it was soon clear that the songs worked - despite their quite different guitar playing styles and techniques. At first the songs were kept completely instrumental, showing distinct influences of metalcore and post-hardcore. It wasn’t very long when a singer joined the two and just a few months later they asked Julia (Skye, A Perfect Mess) to support the band as well. Julia was supposed to assist their singer with writing lyrics and finding melodies; Additionally, she played bass. The first songs had German lyrics but the band realized soon that it did not feel right. When finally the singer left the band, Julia took over the singing and writing completely and started to write lyrics in English. Coming from a singer-songwriter background, it wasn’t very easy for her in the beginning to write lyrics and melodies for an acoustic post-hardcore project, but on the other hand this was exactly what kept her going and what inspired her so much: doing something completely different. The last member to join the band was drummer Simon (Dead Radio Transmission). His awesome skills give the songs a powerful touch and additional atmosphere.
