Flaithrà Neff has toured North America and Europe extensively with Riverdance as well as with the group NeffBros . He has also worked with orchestra, having been soloist with both the Royal Scottish National Symphony Orchestra and the Lorient Festival Symphony Orchestra performing Eddie McGuire's epic "L'Épopée Celtique". He was twice soloist with the Cork Youth Orchestra touring Italy performing Shaun Davey's "The Brendan Voyage" and is currently working with CYO Music Director, Tomas McCarthy, on a large-scale, interactive media composition.
He has released two critically acclaimed albums with his brother Eoghan on fiddle titled 'Soundpost and Bridle' and 'Ar Scáth a Chéile (Each Other's Shadow)' .
Flaithrà holds an Honours music degree from University College Cork and a First Class Honours Master of Science Degree from University of Limerick. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the Computer Science Department at University College Cork researching Advanced Interface Design using Virtual 3D Sonic Environments. He is part of both the Multimedia Research Group and IDEAS Research Group at UCC.
In parallel with his research and studies, he is a Teaching Assistant in Audio Technology at UCC, and has a special interest in Audio Programming for Mobile and Desktop Technologies.
