Pathos was an extreme underground metal outfit based in the Northwestern US. We play over the top technical music that incorporates elements of death metal, black metal, grind, speed metal, classical, and flamenco as well as various other styles. Dealing primarily with dystopic and misanthropic themes pertaining to life in this modern world of shit.
Ultra-technical, blackened death-grind!
TECHNICALITY - SPEED - BRUTALITY
Since PATHOS' demise, various members have gone on to form DOOM LIT SKY , OBSTRUKTOR and NGANGA

Reviews of 'Perdition Splits the Skies':
"The Northwest U.S. has spawned a band that captures the technicality of brutal death metal and the vicious onslaught of the fiercest Scandinavian black metal. That band is Pathos.
Pathos is not the first band to attempt to combine the black metal and death metal approach, but this is one of the few that superbly mixes the bloodlust of the former with the complex brutality of the latter.
This is fucking lethal."
-Live 4 Metal
"While predominantly black metal, Pathos have chosen to introduce some complex tech death metal structures into the mix; imagine the over the top technicality of Cryptopsy delivered with black metal's raw fervor, and some cryptic experimentation, and that comes close...
with little comparison other than ultra complex death metal played with black metal attitude and some classical guitar touches."
-Digital Metal
"Pathos proves again, you don't have to be a meathead to be a metalhead."
-Pit
"Their complex and technical interpretation of extreme music borrows equally from many genres of underground metal (death, grind, black, dark, etc) but without a doubt, they leave their own distinctive mark on the final product...
Their adventurous use of melody, density and intricacy does not impede their obvious desire to shred. I love it."
-Short, Fast + Loud
"With a real raw and gritty edge to it, the Northwest's Pathos come storming out from the realms of hell with a rambunctious and forcible display of blackened death metal and dexterity...
With the right word of mouth, Pathos could easily become one of the stronger acts the U.S. has to offer."
