Southern Art Music Ensemble

About Me

The Southern Art Music Ensemble is a musicians collective currently performing with a core group comprised of gentlemen from St. Louis, New York, New Orleans, Albany, GA, and Denver. We are a tributary flowing into the continuum of music that began with the birth of the blues, the Midwest Migration, and the Harlem Renaissance. We are constantly thanking God for allowing us to do what we do. We know that it is only by his grace that we are together to bring you the best musical performance that we can muster. There are many soldiers that have gone on before us. In fact, we are quite aware that we stand on the shoulders of these giants. We would like to thank them for their efforts by continuing in a great tradition that dictates we nurture ourselves in a vortex of unrelenting creativity. Our logo "The Spiral of Creation" is drawn from the Dogon Tribe of Mali. This remarkable tribe has charted the universe from time immemorial, and has known about the existence of stars that modern man (with the help of telescopes) has only recently discovered. The Southern Art Music Ensemble intends to chart a course that will bring you music yet unheard. Peace Be Unto You!G Michael Ryce Executive Director - Southern Art Music Ensemble
