Tearing up the airwaves comes the latest release from the mid-western boys known as "Maryz Eyez". With their follow up release single, "Memento Mori", the band is showing a different side that is both hard to classify and easy on the ear at the same time. Memento dives into genre's including punk, rock, singer songwriter, pop, and throws in a Latin backbeat leaving the classification process difficult to say the least. Following Memento comes the ever pleasing acoustic ballad "The ride into Charlotte" which strips the band down to raw acoustics and vocals leaving nothing to hide behind. 4 part harmonies raging beats and a presence all of it's own are only a few things to be witnessed with "Memento" ............................................................

Pump a quarter into the jukebox, roll a pack of cigarettes in the sleeve of your white t-shirt, slick your hair back with a healthy scoop of pomade, and prepare yourself for DADDY-O, the forward thinking Los Angeles rock band with a vintage aesthetic. DADDY-O creates music that boasts old-school hooks matched with modern-day beats. Their impeccably crafted songs contain anthemic choruses, infectious melodies, and three-part harmonies inspired by classic groups such as the Beatles, Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Union Gap, and Bob Dylon, yet their energy and bombastic musical assault is clearly influenced by contemporaries such as NOFX, Green Day, Head Automatica, MXPX, Social Distortion, Nirvana, and Soundgarden. With screaming guitars, explosive drumming, a charismatic presence, and songs written to radio-perfection, it’s only a matter of time before you find yourself singing along to the latest of DADDY-O ............................................................

The new album from Kalamazoo's favorite good time pop punks Maryz Eyez, "For All The Haters", establishes them as a standout amidst the current over-saturation of their genre. The opening track "Lights Out" sets a precedent of memorable choruses and tasty guitar licks that continue throughout the album. Stellar three-part harmonies also compliment every song. The energetic "OK" stands out as a fine example of the band's great job of hook-laden songwriting, as does the fun and bouncy "Pourin Rain". The heartfelt ballad "Your Light" and driving rock "Final Days" prove that Maryz Eyez is not just "three chords and the youth"......................................................

Hunter Harvey's Love Aint Easy. If this isn't one of the most radio friendly commercial hits hiding in the indie section then I don't know if I've ever heard one. "Love Aint Easy" raises the bar but somehow Hunter doesn't let up, You can sense influences from Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and Garth Brooks. Great Lyrics, pro instrumentation, and more hooks than you can shake a stick at. This may be one of the best artists I've heard this year. Keep your eye on this guy
DAVARI ABSTRAKT...difficult to categorize, easy to listen to, and impossible to put down. This LA boy knows music, and adds something from almost every genre into his songs. Ranging in influences from Tchaikovsky to Timberlake, he lays down tracks with an R&B flow while throwing in some great classical guitar twists in songs like 'Collide' and 'Best Friend'. It's as if he's the gateway drug introducing people from every different culture to everything else. An amazingly talented musician, he creates masterpieces one after the other. He just has some great songs on here, and you need to check them out...now.
HAYLEY STEELE...this is a name everyone everywhere is going to have to learn. This teenage beauty has pretty much everything you need to succeed in this industry. Her stunning angelic voice echoes with radiance throughout each of her songs. A major pop star in the making, it's amazing this girl isn't as well known as she should be yet. I deeply urge you to go check out her songs, including 'Different' and 'Losing Grip'. This girl is an extremely talented vocalist and seems to puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Definitely one of the best finds I've run across in a long time. Like I said, remember the name, because I promise you will be seeing it again real soon.
DANNY ROCCO hails to us from Long Island, and we just wish he would have came sooner. This guy has some amazing songs, among these are 'Run' and 'Out of the Water'. Super catchy and well written, this singer/songwriter has some real talent that will definitely do him right in his future as a musician. I think Danny Rocco is simply one of the better artists to come around the scene recently. And from the looks of things, he won't be giving that up for a long time to come. Whether singing by himself, or with the rest of his band (Show Me Action), I can't wait to see him perform live either way. With outstanding music in his heart and his own distinct sounds in his soul, I hope to hear a lot more come from Danny Rocco.
Influences:
After the loss of Sublime, i havent quite found the music that could give me the same feeling until i heard GREEN RIBBON. Giving off the vibe you just wanta drop everything at the drop of a hat and party all day at the beach. They've had they're songs played on 2 different movies, and look to be the ultimate live showmen. Just listen to 'Just Right' and try your best not to the tell your boss your calling in for the rest of the day.
CORE is hard to describe, they have a sound much unlike anyone else. It's as if there was a huge rock band orgy with all the greats of all time and they had a bastard offspring, this would be Core. They come at you with versatilty, not knowing what to expect next. Infectious sounds come from every song, along with outstanding vocals, I'm really impressed with the songs 'Confession' and 'Calling John Coffey'. Shows great dynamics and thought, impressive band, check em out.
Looking for something different? Try ALBUM, the Mexican version of Radiohead. With smooth flowing beats and sounds, its a comfort to know that there are still people out there trying to make the Industry realize that changes are needed. I applaud these guys. 'No te Muevas' is a great song that showcases their talent and sounds. Coming soon to shake up the world, this is ALBUM.
If your into some great strumming and picking, check out Mexico's own CARLITOS WAY JAM. With three Folk/Latin songs that could just melt your mind, he lets his emotions loose and takes it out on his guitar. And we thank him for that. Just one man, his guitar, and his comuter, he puts his heart and soul in preparing songs for the whole world to listen to. Make sure to check out his song 'Grand Canyon.'
MARY D and her musical talents abound in this 18 year old's songs of love and dedication to her craft. Piano, guitar, and singing keep this girl busy as she spreads her love of good music to the world. Inspired by Jewel, she proclaims a few things I will quote from her page. dedication--"I am determined to be an old hag and play songs to my cats." and honesty -- "Okay, so I write a lot about love. Suck it." I love this girl already.
Sirens Grey hails to us from Portland, Oregon. An amazing piano player and songwriter, this group revolves around the writing of one man and his piano, with great filler and beats accompanying him. Inspiring and heart-felt, they display great lyrics while keeping everyone in a trance, focused on their music.Classy and with style, these boys have come to entertain. Make sure to check out their song 'Strait Jacket'.
There's been a breakout! the LIONZ are loose and wrecking havoc all up and down the East coast. This Southern Rock/Jam Band have been entertaining people for years and after listening to them, I see why they've been in the game so long. The song 'Open the Door' showcases all their individual talents and skills they all bring to the table. These guys are great, and with 6 players who had been playing individually for years, bringing all that skill, experience and talent together into one place is just what the doctor ordered. I hope these animals never get caged up and keep producing quality tunes for the rest of us to enjoy.
In BIXLER, a pop-punk band from Nashville, we hear something that is needed in this genre. There is some thinking outside the box and sounds outside the realm of normal pop punk bands. Full of unexpected changes, love listening to the vocal changes in songs like 'Wishful Thinking'. Keeps you on your toes and wondering what to expect next from this dynamic group. Vibrant tunes like that and the smooth acoustics and great lyrics of 'October' give a little bit of everything you could ask for in a band.
Sounds Like:
KELLY KING...wow, where to start? And I mean that in the absolutely best way possible. This girl has it all, everything you need to make it in the business, definitely a future star in the making. Kelly King pleases your eyes as well as your ears with every one of her dynamic songs. Her angelic voice carries over in each of her songs of every genre. Taking prisoners in the Pop/Soul department, but not stopping there, showing glimpses of rock, R&B, and just plain talent everywhere throughout her whole album. I especially enjoyed the song 'Gravity', showing a fun spirit in pretty much everything she does. She seems to be the real deal and the next up and coming star, with a hearty future ahead of her in life. I'm sure people will be seeing a lot more of Kelly King for years to come. I wish her the best, now go check her out for yourself.
EUROPA...I really like these guys, obviously we followed the same bands growing up. Fast and Furious (but without the race cars) these guys tear up all their new songs on the new Album 'Weapons'. Influences from the Beatles, Nirvana, and the Pixies make for a great sound and remind me of a band I haven't heard in years, Oleander. "Can you Believe" starts out real slow, but eventually kicks into overdrive by the end and leaves you waiting for the next song for sure. "All on Me", eerily sounds like some early Foo Fighters. The singing on some songs sometimes leaves me thinking of Eddie Vedder, but these guys have so much of a great sound that could only be considered their own style. I hope the best for these guys, definitely worth a second listen...maybe even a third.
AUTO DEFIANCE...This band has a sweet, unique blend of post punk sounds, also including some orchestra and electronics in the songs to combine with some great lyrics. Overall, this combination of different things add up to something quite different and dark sounding, almost ghostly and haunting, especially in the song obviously titled "Ghost inside your House". Great arrangements make the songs dreamy and beautiful to listen to. I'm really impressed by these guys. Also enjoyed the change of pace in the other song "Look what your Buying" moving more into the punk rock genre, almost sounding like a harder Sponge type sound. These guys are a great band and you should for sure go check em out.
DIMONET...what can I say but this band has something great going for it. A band from Arizona which puts punk, jazz, blues, and rock in a bucket and magic starts flowing out like a science fair project volcano. Every few minutes you listen to one of their songs it reminds you of some other band, like jams from Phish, ingenious lyrics like Eve 6, even reminiscent of Incubus at times. But on top of all these similarities, they manage to sound really like nothing else out there right now. With their self titled album just out, I can't wait to hear all their songs. And especially the live shows, from all I've read about these guys, CD's don't do justice compared to a live show. What a great find in this band. I suggest everyone should go check out these guys at all cost, you won't hear a thing like them, and you won't be disappointed in the least.
PLAINS TRAINS AND CARS...People should take any of these forms of transportation to get to see this guy play. An acoustic genius, he finds a way to entrap you in his words and sounds. A truly talented musician who's been around the country just trying to share some great songs from his soul. After spending a few years writing, drinking, and riding, he's come back with a barrage of new songs for you. Take a listen to 'Cut Me Off' and 'Plains Trains and Cars'. You won't be disappointed, i promise you. I can't say enough about how much I love listening to this guy play. So next time you get a chance, go check him out, drink some whiskey with him, and be more than entertained
Tears of Asher
Although the majority of the tunes on this 4 song journey seem to be taken from a live show the energy and enthusiasm shines through in every song. Starting with an acoustic ballad titled "New Beginning", TOA seem to warm up the listener and showcase some natural talent with riveting vocals and a soft presence that leaves the listener wanting more. Following the acoustic balled in nothing less then an extreme makeover. Straight up gut busting rock at it's finest. Take Evenenesence, Tool, and Korn and throw in a vocalist that can actually carry a tune and there you have it, "Tears of Asher". We only hope the studio versions of these songs can adhere to the high expectations of the live version-----------------------------------------------------

Drawing influences from bands such as Coheed and Cambria, Relient K, and New Found Glory, Sunset Shootout brings a hint of originality to the popular genre saturating the market. Great guitar work and plenty of melodious harmonies are present in every song. Starting with the singe, "Only you" and following through with a powerpacked quartet of songs SS is on to something good. These guys may be young but definitely not inexperienced. Just listen to the collaboration between the members from off beat drum licks to synchronized leads, even throwing in a little synth. These songs will take you up, down, spinning circles, and back again in a matter of 3 1/2 minutes each. SS is out to show the world that whatever you label the music you still must admit that it rocks.
BLIND JOE. Everyone's favorite party band "BJ" lay it out thick rude, crude, and full of attitude. Whiskey slamming beer drinking country boys that like to party and don't mind letting everyone know about it. Makes me want to head down to the local pub and crawl home. With a great hit like "Back at the Bar Again" Blind Joe bring it toi the table without holding back. Hank Williams Jr I'm sure would be proud. "Drink Jack Daniels Whiskey and Budwieser Beer, People like me hang out here" NICE
the state of Texas, a guitar, and a guy with inspiration in his soul; this is HEART AT TRAVEL. Raw and emotional, Hugh brings everyone into his world of music and expresses his thoughts and emotions for you. With some proper producing and mastering, his songs could reach people the world over. Beautiful sounds and great lyrics abound in his songs. He will be one to look out for in the future.
MIGGS...this rock/alt group seems to be the next real deal coming through the speakers right now. A three piece band from the Bay area who gained huge exposure and a fan base with basically just their music. TV, Radio, Concerts, they've done it all, and its all due to some crafty writing and undeniable musical skills. With their release of "Late Nights and Early Mornings", the songs are purely amazing. I especially enjoyed their song "Nothing." Catchy hooks and smooth melody, the songs are great for everybody who appreciates good music. Worth another look and listen, so I say go check them out, and see for yourself what a great sound they put out.
