Influences: I grew up in Minneapolis minnesota and played in bands from the age of 13. I always wrote songs and always wanted to be in the music business. I have been fortunate enough to make a living doing something I love to do. I lived in LA for a number of years and moved to Nashville in 1988. I wouldn't live anywhere else. I love it here. I am influenced by all kinds of music but probably the most by the Beatles and the British invasion. I also very much love old American R and B and country music.
Sounds Like: It is odd to talk about yourself but I guess that is what this page is about so here goes.I write and produce all kinds of music. I co produced the last Emerson Drive album and co wrote their single "He was a good man" as well as a new country artist named Adam Gregory. His current single is "What it takes". I am working on Country artist Lindsey Grant. I have the current Lady Antebellum single called "Lookin for a good time" which I co wrote with Charles, Hillary and Dave, three of the most talented newcomers in country music. I have the new single for Sinead Burgess on ABC records in Australia called "You get me". I am also working on a new rock band that just got signed to a Major label deal.I have been Billboard and ASCAP songwriter of the year. I also have been Grammy and Emmy nominated. I co wrote Country song of the year "The way you love me". I don't keep track of how many songs I have had recorded but I have had multiple number one records here and around the world.I couldn't do it without all my friends and co writers and to all of them I am eternally grateful. Of all the things I have been lucky enough to do my favorite part is still writing the song. It is truly one of the joys in life and the people I get to work with are all so talented. There is something about walking into a room with nothing and walking out with a new song that still amazes me everytime I do it.
