He is considered one of the most influential yodelers in America, that has kept yodeling alive for over 50 years, with his records, radio, TV & stage shows. Many of the new younger yodelers on the national scene today, give credit too, and patterned their styles from Kenny Roberts, they have stated. Other great legends of yodeling are Slim Whitman Rosalie Allen, and the late Elton Britt, Rex Allen, Roy Rogers, Montana Slim, Patsy Montana, Slim Clark and the singing brakeman, Jimmie Rodgers, that were also the heroes of many of the new younger yodelers of today
April 2002 makes 59 years performing in Country Music for this legendary singer
& yodeler. He will certainly go down in history as one of the greatest
yodelers in the world, of all time. When you look at Kenny Roberts
amazing career of credits, from his 1949 million selling record of I
NEVER SEE MAGGIE ALONE, up through the 90's and into the new millennium,
you can see why his popularity with fans, D.J's and booking agents have
spanned over 5 decades.
He was crowned KING OF THE YODELERS in 1947 on the KMOX Sat. night barn
dance, in St. Louis, Mo. where he was also featured daily for 6 months
before moving on to WLW in Cincinnati in May 1948 where he started his
road to fame in the annals of Country Music History, with his own daily
radio & TV shows and on their famous WLW Sat. night MIDWESTERN HAYRIDE.
K.R. is acclaimed WORLD CHAMPION YODELER at Madison Square Garden & in
the N.Y. Times in 1964.
At age 75 born Oct. 14 1926, he is still considered by many of his peers
& fans as the Greatest Yodeler in America.
HE DOESN'T JUST YODEL, however. His unique falsetto voice break style on
his recorded ballads, are in a class by themselves and his comedy songs,
harmonica's and clean family stories, keep his audience amused, but when
he gives out with one of his yodeling songs, they are spellbound, giving
him standing ovations on shows, coast to coast, for over 50 years. Kenny
Roberts is known for presenting one of the most highly entertaining stage
shows in Country Music.
He has often been copied, but NEVER duplicated. There is only 1 YODELING
KENNY ROBERTS.
