Maytal was born in Israel and moved to New York City in 2002.
At the age of 6 she started studying jazz and performing in school events including dancing, singing, and acting. In junior high school she was a member of the school chorus. Her love for the performing arts continued to grow throughout high school, where she was not only in the school chorus but was also involved in the drama and theatre department.
In high school she performed in numerous school and city events. She also participated in a national event showcasing her skills as a singer and dancer. During the same time period Maytal also joined various dance companies like “Summer Showâ€, “Shirlyâ€, and “Mix†performing belly dancing, jazz, hip-hop, and salsa.
In 1997 Maytal graduated from high school and enrolled in the Israeli military. She became an officer in the military in 1999 and a lieutenant in 2000. In 2001 Maytal was honorably discharged from the military and started working as a choreographer for a high school graduation performance.
Soon after that project she decided to move to New York City to pursue her passion for the performing arts. Even though she came to the “big city†destitute and alone she eventually landed a job in lower Manhattan singing in a bar. Through her new job she made a connection to join a wedding band. Maytal then started taking private voice lessons with professional singer and voice coach Deb Chamberlin. During the same time period she enrolled at “Peridance Center†in Union Square. She danced daily at the school for 3 years including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and house. She also danced in school performances for various choreographers.
In 2004 through 2005 she started performing with artist Joe Black as a background dancer and a backup singer. She also started taking dance classes at Broadway Dance Center studying funk jazz and belly dancing.
2006 was a very busy year for Maytal. Besides joining The American Federation for Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) union, she started working on her own music writing and composing songs. During the same year while working on her music, she took a 5 month course in Israel at an international ballroom dance studio called "Habanera" and received a certificate to be an instructor in ballroom and latin dance. In June of 2006 she returned to New York and began to record her songs, and by September 2007 she finished her 10 song demo.
In October 2007 she began a studio production class at Time Warner Television and when finished, in January 2008, she started producing and STARING as "Foxxi" on "The Foxxi and Bambi Show", her own TV show on Public Access Television. The show premiered in Queens May 2008, and in Manhattan and Brooklyn December 2008.
