The Rorschach Montage is a Vancouver-based alternative rock band. Formerly called Sonus, it consisted of a few high school friends who enjoyed rocking out with acoustic guitars and cover songs. On sunny days they would play to crowds of friends on a grassy hill or at a picnic bench. If it rained (as it often does in this city) they would play in the hallways of Point Grey Secondary, located in the scenic and expensive neighborhood of Point Grey in Vancouver. Sonus has played a handful of gigs, from open mics to battle of the bands, and once on an ice rink with skaters gliding past.
The latest incarnation is trying to be more experimental. Sometimes the experiments work, as seen above, and sometimes they don't.. The band lost two members in the transition from Sonus to the Rorschach Montage, now they rely on multi-tracking and electric drums. The musicians fit recording time into busy schedules at College and University, they sing about heart-break and instant noodles, vodka and tap water.
The Rorschach Montage make music to express, not to impress; to inspire, not to acquire.
