About Me

I live in a small, close knit town in the Colorado Rockies...you could call it paradise...a beautiful town filled with beautiful people. Skiing is my passion and I am proud to have worked for the Crested Butte Ski Patrol for the last 15 years...and probably will until I drop. In my opinion, there is no better job out there...so how lucky am I to have two jobs that I absolutely love. You spend over 1/3 of your adult life at work...it should be something you enjoy, huh? My summer job is an adventure as well...I am a preschool teacher, working with three and four year olds, my favorite age. My 15 minutes of fame came in 2002 when I won the World Championships in the handcycling road race in Germany...silver in the time trial. It was also a great honor to race for the US in Athens 2004...I am retired now and focusing on my art. Other than that...I am a hippie at heart, and I enjoy my laid back life in CB. I have been in a wheelchair since 83 when I broke my neck in a diving mishap, but, don't even need a car in my town, so I got rid of it in 2000. I get everywhere in my wheelchair, even in the winter when I sport my version of chains...good thing since gas has risen from $1.46 per gal when g.w. TOOK office.
