The meditative fusion band AJAPA now exists about 3 years, and was first founded by Ananda Yoga (sitar, bass, guitar, voice, percussion), Bodhi Aditya (congas, bongos, derbuka, sabar, voice), and Philip de Goey (Flutes, voice, small percussion). The three of them were all a part of a mantra group in
Hotel het Centrum, The Hague, the Netherlands.
Later Atit Sigari (Flute, voice, small percussion) joined the band, and in 2007 Maudy Apon (keys, voice, small percussion) followed.
The majorities of the members of AJAPA have a tremendously various musical past and are definitely not unknown in the music world.
The performances by AJAPA can be characterized from listening, relaxation and meditation sessions in meditation centers to concerts on open-air festival stages and lunch concerts before an exclusive audience.
In November 2007 AJAPA recorded their first CD Back to Space. Its presentation takes place in May 2008.
On this CD you only can hear AJAPA’s own compositions influenced by a large diversity of music: South-American en Moroccan rhythms, Indian Ragas, Irish and Medieval music are melted to a union without borders.
