About Me

My name is Patrick. I recorded my first real song in the 9th grade. This guy at school wrote these lyrics called "Driving in my Gremlin", and gave them to me after I told him I would record a song he wrote. He didn't really think I would do it, but I did. I did it on portable stereo cassette deck with scotch tape over the erase head for sound on sound overdubbing. Drums were by Mattel Synsonics. I brought the final tape to school on my walkman and played it for him. He laughed at first, but then he realized I actually fucking did it and couldn't believe it. I thought to myself, fuck him. He really didn't think I could do it, and I realized all of the sudden that he thought I was a loser all along but somehow I made this cool thing, I don't know....like it was a fucking accident or something.
I currently write songs and record alone and generally don't bother with assholes like the guy who wrote the lyrics to "Driving in my Gremlin" anymore. Thanks for the memories.
