About Me

I graduated from law school on May 12. Two weeks later, Michael and I got married in my hometown! Everything went great! We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family. We honeymooned in Aruba. Right now we are living in Topeka while we study for the bar exam. The bar is July 24 and 25. Please pray for both of us! We will move to Wichita, Kansas after we finish taking the bar. I will begin my job as a Public Defender for Sedgewick County. That means I'll be a criminal defense attorney for folks who can't afford an attorney. I'm really looking forward to my job - I just hope I pass the bar exam. No pass - no job. Michael will be working with his dad, who is also an attorney. He will do mostly plaintiff's work. But I think he wants to dabble in criminal defense some too. After the bar, we are going to drive to Colorado for a little down time. Then we will come back, move to wichita, and start our jobs.

Its been so long since I've been able to read anything non-law with any regularity. In my former life I loved anything by Henri Nouwen, C.S. Lewis, Viv Griggs and more.

Jesus. Also...people who: follow their convictions even when the price is high, love sacrificially, take the time to encourage others, and people who manage to keep first things first despite the seductions and distractions of the world.
