About Me

Hello everyone! Welcome to the page of Anthony Russell! I am a musician, guitarist, and composer. I live for music; music fuels me. I'm not one of those guitarists who just plays their instrument to become the next Steve Vai. Becoming just another, plain old shredder is not something that I want to be a part of. I play guitar and make it my own. I play guitar because I feel satisfied by expressing myself through melodies. I play guitar because life would be hard without it. I play to make people happy, including myself. I want to be a new breed of guitar players. Ever since I was a child, I knew music was for me. Something about when I was younger, melodies were constantly surrounding me, buzzing in my ear. Music came natural for me, it was something that was always there, and i knew that I had to make something of it.I picked up my first guitar at the age of 13 with intentions to play music like Pearl Jam and Pumpkins. After a couple months of lessons, I found guitar to be more than just that. I found practicing to be very satisfying. I became a decent guitarist for 14 when my guitar instructor gave me "The Damnation Game" by Symphony X. I was so impressed with the intense pace of the songs, it really changed my perspective on music. From then on, I have been very open minded about music and now, I listen to almost anything I get my hands on.At the age of 16, I began taking lessons with the almighty Rusty Cooley. He is one of my favorite guitar players, and when I found out he was living 30 minutes away from me, I knew I had to take lessons from him. I ended up taking lessons from him for 11 months, and I have some killer chops thanks to that man. Rusty really made me the guitarist I am today and he is one of the coolest guys on this planet.make goals, and make sure that on the road to achiving what you aspire to be, let your luminescent smile lead you in the right direction - me[LOVEMYFLASH]
