Where does the name Wild Child come from? Wild Child was given his name by a high school friend whom he first began his rapping days with. "We were all in my room rapping and my boy just started calling me Wild Child. I was jus spittin' wit alot of energy and a crazy ass voice. He said we gone call this dude Wild Child. I've been Wild Child ever since.", Wild Child recalls. Growing up in the mean streets of L.A., Wild Child was drawn by the influences of Dr. Dre, 2 Pac, Snoop, and Dj Quik, among others. Throughout his school days Wild Child often bounced around from pillar to post. Financial problems were often the norm for Wild Child and his family. "I'd say we bounced around ever since i hit junior high", Wild Child recollects. Going from East L.A. to West L.A., from Watts to Compton watching his mom struggle to keep food on the table only fueled Wild Child to find a way out. Instead of turning to the streets he turned to music. His undeniable drive has pushed him into the man he has become today. "When I was in high school we lived in a homeless shelter, a condemned apartment, motels and i still finished school. Most niggaz would've dropped out. When i make my mind up to do something consider it done. And to know where I've been up to where I'm at today, I'm blessed". Given Wild Child's shortcomings and his undeniable drive has taken him from a student of the game to a lyrical monster. Wild Child incorporates west coast street life and finesses them with an east coast style of flow. This formula has paid dividends for Wild Child. He has performed all over the L.A. area, his most notable was opening up for one of hip-hop's legends, Too-Short. He has worked with a laundry list of local acts, including Long Beaches own The Dove Shack("Summertime In The L.B.C. Now is definitely Wild Child's time.
