About Me

Steve Price started playing guitar at the age of 13 when his brother, a player for many years, gave him a spare guitar he had.At the age of 16, he was approached by a bunch of guys while playing in a public park by himself. These guys turned out to be the back-up band for the legendary Leslie West from the Woodstock band Mountain. After hearing Price play, they immediately asked him to come to a jam session later that week, which would lead him to join the band and do many shows, such as the famous Max's Kansas City. Price, a New York based musician, then played with various bands in the city. From 1980 - 1982, he went on to play with many different musicians in New York City.In 1982, Price, who was giving guitar lessons and doing studio work and also some gigs, was approached by one of his students to audition for a guy named THOR. At the time, Price was not that interested, but went down to the audition anyway. When he went to the studio in Greenwich Village, he was blown away from what he heard, which was a massive jam that he would join within minutes. Jon Thor stopped the music with his arms, Price very nervous by this, was then asked if he would join the band. He joined the band right on the spot and the rest was history. Price toured with Thor for many years throughout many countries.Price still works with Thor from time to time. He performed with Thor throughout the 80's. From 1980 - 1987 performing and recording many tours and albums with Thor. In 1986 after the last Thor LP, Steve Price was asked to do a solo LP, this recording is that LP!!!With long time friends and great musicians Steve Klatz and Paul Delaney and Tipa Sparrs he set out to record. They spent many hours in the legendary studio Kingdom Sound in Long Island, NY. The studio has been the home to Rainbow, Cyndi Lauper, Thor and many more.Recently, the LP was digitally re-mastered by Price and Ricky Sanders, drummer for Brian Howe's Bad Company and Saigon Kick.Steve Price has performed with or jammed or recorded with, THOR, Greg Allman, Dom um Ramao from Weather Report, Les Paul, Ray Gillan from Badlands, Carmine Appice from Vanilla Fudge and Blue Murder, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, Ian Lloyd from Stories, Paul Morris, keyboardist from Rainbow, Micheal Brecker, saxophonist with various artists and many, many more.
