Vincenzo Di Girolamo was born 22 years ago in Naples, in a time known for its various music genres (the 80's), famous singers and bands that he started to listen since he was a child.To be more precise, he has been listening to it until life hasn't given him a beautiful gift, the most beautiful one that a person can get. A gift that changed his life…opportunity to play guitar!!!!...
However, at the beginning it wasn't all perfect. When he was little, his father (who inherited the same talent from his father, Vincenzo’s grandfather) always tried to find a way to ''carry over'' his passion toward music on him… and Vincenzo as being as he is, he couldn't even hear about it.
With time, as he was growing older and watching his father all the way, he woke up one morning realizing the only thing that he wanted to do in his life from that moment was to play, play and play!!!!...and of course to become a great musician (and he’s still hoping that)!
Right now he’s attending Conservatory of Music ''Domenico Cimarosa di Avellino'' under guidance of professor Lucio Matarazzo (www.luciomatarazzo.it), but thanks to his first professor and a very good friend Marcello Parisi (guitar player and composer) he started to play guitar professionally. Now Vincenzo help him with his students as an assistent professor in the school Ludomusica . Not just him but also his parents were the ones that have supported him and stood by him (even when it was rough) by attending all his school concerts, music contest in 2003 where he won first prize with the result of 95/100 and all the concerts and projects (like the one for the students in their music school) that Vincenzo is part of together with his professor.
As a big appreciator of various music genres he plays in a pop-rock band of 3 members: his cousin Alessandro Stellano (bass), Gabriele Aprile (vocals) and himself (guitar). Their passion to make music is becoming stronger and stronger every day (inspiring even Vincenzo to write a song "Non cambierà ’’ for his cousin Elena!!)
All 3 composers from the band called APRIL FOOLS, who have been playing together for already 4 years, have had fun composing, playing in various places and most of all enjoy in small but significant things like coming as semi-finalists at the festival Musicultura di Macerata in 2007…. They are all busy at the moment making new songs and hoping for them to become a big success!!!
Currently Vincenzo is improving on the studies of Modern Guitar, thanks to the M° Luca Gianquitto. On the other hand he will continue to play guitar because he thinks the music is one of the rare things that really makes him happy!!
