Singer/songwriter Matt Dean and award winning producer Marcus Kane come together to produce ‘Thank God it’s Friday’ – a catchy pop song topped with an engaging hook highlights that ‘Friday feeling’; an excitement that everyone can relate to. The hilarity of the accompanying animated video drives the song up a notch ensuring it to be a hit.Matt Dean is a musical prodigy who is best known as a jobbing and studio musician in Toronto. As a youngster, his versatility as a vocalist, keyboardist, trombonist and percussionist had won him many honours, including being chosen by Rob McConnell as one of Canada’s finest for the Calgary Olympic Jazz Band. Matt has had the privilege of performing with Guido Basso, Murray McLaughlin, David Wilcox and The Nylons. He has opened for many artists including Linda Rondstadt and even performed at the Juno Awards as well as for members of The Royal Family.Equally, Marcus Kane has worked with some of today’s most pre- eminent talent including Snow and Joey Boy. Marcus has sold over 3 million units worldwide, and to date, has four platinum albums and two platinum singles to his credit. The multi platinum producer took home the coveted “Producer of the Year†at the Canadian Urban Music Awards. It was televised on Thursday October 28th, 2004 on CBC nation wide. Additionally, MTV’s international smash hit shows Punk’d, Next, Pimp My Ride, Entourage, Sweet Sixteen and P. Diddy’s Making of The Band have all featured music produced by Marcus Kane. NUMB3RS, Falcon Beach, Degrassi: Next Generation, Canadian Idol, The Trailer Park Boys, UPN, Global TV, E-Talk, Canada AM, Omni TV, and even Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model have also utilized songs in Kane’s catalog. More recently in 2006, the Kat Eyez/Snow collaboration “Hey Love†got major rotation on video channels including MTV Tempo, MTV Base UK, Much Music, Much Vibe, MTV UK, Channel U, Z – T.V, etc…Although well known in the urban scene, Marcus likes variety and occasionally works with artists outside the box. Similarly, Matt has played everything from Jazz to Classical and Pop/Rock to R&B. Matt’s incredible four octave range, smooth styling and versatility have captured many an audience’s attention and praise and ‘thank God it’s Friday’ will certainly live up to this expectation.
