Latitude are a trio based in the Hawkesbury area of Sydney, NSW, who play original and traditional songs and tunes based in Old-Time, Irish, and other Folk traditions.
This produces a 'rootsy concoction' of contemporary songwriting and music that covers a variety of sounds and moods.
Patrick Smith ( vocals, guitar, mandolin, whistles and harmonicas) brings the Irish sounds and tries to sneak in his prog-rock covers, Richard Galluzzi ( vocals, clawhammer banjo, bottleneck guitar) loves raucous old-time fiddle tunes with nonsensical lyrics hollered over the top, and Selina Rowe ( vocals, guitar, mandolin, bodhran) likes bringing out random percussion sounds to add to the mix. The band has progressed from lunchtime jam sessions at work in 2003 to playing at a variety of Folk Festivals and Clubs, house parties, cafe's, and charity events.
