Simmer Biography:
Simmer, a new intensely hard working, alternative rock band. They are a four-piece group of vibrant musicians with an energizing stage presence, incredible musicianship, and a gifted songwriter at the helm. Their only purpose on stage is to entertain the audience. "Give the people a damn great show, that's our motto!" says Robert J. Bielma
Simmer is no strangers to the L.A. and O.C. club scene. They are currently performing in all local clubs to spread their style of hard rocking music such as The House of Blues, Chain Reaction, The Garage, Di Piazzas, The Stardust Club, and the GIG Hollywood just to name a few. They have also performed in various colleges in Southern California. They are currently distributing their rockin' single "Dummy" at all their shows along with stickers and buttons. They have finished their first full length record with producer Joey Adkins to be released summer of 2005 entitled "Under the Microscope" by independent label "Aberdeen Records". They have also received airplay on internet radio on the "Emilio Rodriguez Show" on klasfm.com, KUCI, and Kroq-Echo. "Our goal is to obtain a development deal with a respectable record company so people will have easier access to our music worldwide" says Dave Rhodes.
Simmer was formed in 2002 and after a few line up change, Simmer consists of Robert J. Bielma (Vocals/Bass guitar), Dave Rhodes (Guitar/Backing Vocals), and Charlie (Lead guitar), and Mike (Drums). Robert had written songs he wanted to record, so they booked studio time and recorded a four song E.P. While songwriting and rehearsing they felt a connection between them and the music seemed to develop on it's own. The studio walls could no longer contain the energy and a musical explosion ensued. "Music needs a good kick in the ass and that's what we plan to do!" says Charlie Sanchez.
Although Simmer are a bunch of regular hard working guys, they have high expectations for their music. They use music as a way to express their self loathing and anger and hope to one day have a place in rock history. Simmer has a range of influences, too many to name, but all who have had the pleasure of hearing Simmers' music say they are unique and full of energy. They hope the audience leaves their shows with a feeling of satisfaction for the price of admission. "There's nothing better than someone coming up and telling us we were the best band that night!" says Mike McMullen.
With Simmers' ability for a great show, good musicianship, and catchy songs, it's no wonder why they are quickly becoming very popular on the scene. Let them amaze you with all they have to offer! So if you see their name on the marquee, do them a favor and catch their show. "Just give us a platform and we'll give a show you won't soon forget" says Robert J. Bielma.
