Murder by the Groove is an accumulation of young musicians coming together from different boroughs of New York City. The band members, with the influence of their diverse backgrounds and their professionalism and strong work ethic, coact to compose songs that break stylistic barriers. Though a diversity exists amidst the songs themselves, they are all connected by their basis on a heavy groove and the use of percussion which helps in emphasizing the rhythm. Living in New York City means being surrounded by an atmosphere of fast change, confusion, and a kind of complex simplicity. This atmosphere is also felt in the music of Murder by the Groove.
