The Vehicle Birth (R.I.P.)

About Me

This page seemed the easiest way to put out some unreleased material. We put out one album on Crank! as well as a few seven inches and compilation tracks. A lot of stuff was recorded between our 1996 album and our 1999 demise, so it is available here for shits n'giggles.

Chris until recently played in Cracktorch in Boston. (See http://www.cracktorch.net) Tim now plays in the Movies, who are mostly based out of L.A. (See http://www.the-movies.net) Tim recently dragged the contents of DC's National Recording Studios back to L.A., and he occasionally finds time to prank-call John. Jeff is in Boston doing photography and is making sweet drums to Certainly, Sir (www.certainly-sir.com and www.myspace.com/certainlysir), Leigh is in DC after stints in San Francisco, Richmond, VA, and NYC. He is playing with Statehood with Clark Sabine and the rhythm section from the Dismemberment Plan. John is back in DC making music in his apartment for an audience of cockroaches as "John Stephens", formerly pka John vs. Anti-John.
Disclaimer: With the exception of the quoted reviews, John (bass) is the author of all this written nonsense here on myspace, and any opinions, poor taste, stillborn attempts at humor, or lapses in judgment expressed herein are entirely his. Many of the photos were taken by Jess Gelt or Jeff Galusha. Tim's sister Julie might have taken some of the oldest ones. The actual music was the product of the 5 caucasian males of slim build who made up the Vehicle Birth.
