About Me

Comfort is a Writer, Spoken Word Artist and Event Organiser from London.Upon discovering her love of words at a very young age, and subsequently studying Journalism and Media Studies, Comfort often found herself playing with words to create erotica and very short stories as a pastime to entertain herself during the mundane routine of her 9-5. Her transition from written stories to the spoken word was initially sparked by her outrage and frustration at the alarming rise of violent crime amongst young people within the UK, coupled with the general mis-education of children and young people within her community, leading her to embark upon her poetry journey in July 2007.On the course of her 18 month spoken word journey, Comfort has had the pleasure of performing at an array of events including Word4Word, Poetry n Motion, Rum Punch, Apples & Snakes, Shangwe, Poetry in the Park, AdLib, The Poets Lounge, Tell Tales, Farrago, Poetry Unplugged, SOULcial to name only a few, and was invited to feature at the prestigious ACLT 9th Gift of Life Ball, as well as opening for US artist Marva King (of Prince & The New Power Generation) and ME1 for Kindred Spirits Intimates. In addition, her signature piece ‘Unsatisfied’ was published by new UK Men’s Magazine, ‘Juice’, at the end of 2008.In addition to writing and performing thought provoking pieces, Comfort is in the process of writing a novel, which she also plans to have published. As well as her spoken word activities, Comfort is 1/3 of collective Partnas in Rhyme. PiR, made up by Comfort, Performance Poet Saran Green and Presenter/Poet Dúbb'l yoo T (WT) came together to bring London Rum Punch, the monthly, invigorating blend of entertainment consisting of a generous quantity of poetry & spoken word, an ample measure of singing, one part comedy, with a splash of open mics, poured liberally into a cool venue and garnished with a sprinkling of great music guaranteed to leave your creative taste buds refreshingly intoxicated and yearning for more.Join PiR on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10770509798 and remember, tell a friend, to tell a friend! For Bookings / Further information contact:07790 443 834 [email protected] http://www.myspace.com/comfort75 http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8040165038 (Comfort’s Corner)THIS PAGE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS - MUCH LIKE MYSELF!
