End of An Age got their start in late 2006 when guitarist Travis Luchtenburg, bassist Tony Grimm, and drummer Nathan Setzer reunited after five years of playing in separate acts. They were all friends throughout childhood and school years, and played together in The Crippling Effect around 2002. Together again with a new rhythm guitarist they moved forward and began the process of rebuilding the musical chemistry. They were joined by vocalist Chuck Smith for a short time and the project seemed to be moving forward steadily, though this new addition would not last long. Austin Luchtenburg was added to the roster soon after their first singer defected from the group, music was written, and shows were played as a four piece. A month or so later Ryan Kelm, bass player for Mistake of Nature, was added as a second guitarist. Now a five piece End Of An Age is stronger than ever and quickly becoming more and more accommodated to the musical identity that is formed by the culmination of all five creative entities. Now that they are moving faster and faster toward greater understanding of what they are, they are committing themselves to the bringing new and innovative music to the scene. Unfortunately Austin could not stay the course and had to leave. Travis stepped in and picked up where Austin left of... and it is sounding good. Now a four piece once more they are jumping forward in leaps and bounds. And hey, these boys are from the middle of Iowa. This is Roadhouse metal, buddy. Anyone coming from this neck of the woods denying they got SOME country in 'em is really stretching. This is a group of guys that fall in naturally. No foolin' yourself about what you are. Get down, get dirty, work hard, and drink it up fuckers, cuz this balls out roadhouse metal is for you. Its all for you.
