Embrace Life! Always go in hard, you're gonna get hurt so tuck you're chin and expect it, take it in

About Me

My Motto is Carpe Diem which means Seize the Day, Embrace Life. That's how I live. I charge through life with an open mind, ready smile and with the confidence of knowing that somehow it'll all be ok. Some of my best memories are the few moments before getting really hurt, the calm before the storm, they remind me to always have a punt because almost anything heals. I'm a strong friend and I lead by example. I'm honest and I try to be kind. I don't shy away from getting the job done and I'm not afraid to dig in and get my hands dirty. I like to cause as much mischief as possible because I believe laughter is the best medicine. My life's great when I hug lots, laugh often, smile at strangers and eat yummy food. I end up laughing at myself, eating everything, hugging strangers and smiling all the time. But whatever it's all good =) I always keep a spare hug up my sleeve because you never know who's going to need one. I try and tell everyone that I meet to hug to the right so your hearts touch (because they're on the left silly), well it's a close as you can get anyway. In the end hugs are like presents, it the thought that counts.
I'm a big fan of meaningful quotes. I live my life by some of the best I have found. If you know a good quote please share it with me =) Here's some I have in my life everyday:
Bad things happen when good men do nothing.
(this is why I work so hard, most of you know what I mean when I say that)
The spirits of my ancestors are always with me, for in this moment I am the only reason they existed at all, but I always remember, my life is the fulfilment of the hopes of those who have gone before me.
(it's important to remember who made you who you are and gave you the opportunities you have. draw on their strength and remember your life is about more then just you)
My family motto "Sola Virtus Invicta" meaning "Virtue Alone is Invincible" or sometimes translated as "Bravery Alone is Invincible"
Kindness: a language the deaf can hear, the blind can see and the mute can speak.
(So smile because it makes the world more beautiful for the rest of us =)
My old PL SGT an ex SAS soldier once told me a story that helped me understand and accept who and what I am. He has a lot of experience and I trust and value his opinion.
He said "Boss, you and I are different. We'll pull the trigger. We're willing to accept loss of life either our own life or of those we lead, accept physical pain and undergo extreme hardship in order to do what needs to be done. We do this because we believe it is for the greater good. In the end it is just what we are. We were born with teeth. See there's two types of people, the sheep and those of us with teeth. Those of us with teeth have to decide what we will do with them. Wolves feed on the sheep but us, we are the sheep dogs that protect the sheep from the wolves. We guide them and keep them safe. Our teeth need to be sharp and we need to be unafraid to use them. There can be no hesitation to draw bloody or we will loose more sheep. That is why they need us. That is what we are."
As I get old I'm starting to thing there really is not truth, only different perspectives. Right and wrong is different for each of us and our gut is there to guide us. If it feels good we call it right and if it causes pain we call it bad. Waking up isn't about transcending consciousness it's about accepting who you are, both the good and bad, embracing life and making the most of the little things. Life's messy and life feeds on life to sustain itself. This isn't right or wrong it is just the way life works. Is it fair? The real question is Fair to whom? You? haha something to think about anyway =)

Music:

Just check out the list. It's different. My favourite band is Metallica followed by Tool but I like most old school bands/artist and a lot of alternative music like Incubus, Vast etc

Books:

I read alot and the selection is about as random as my interest in music. The three main catagories:

fantasy (medievil mainly) for fun, Quantum Physics/Personal Development/Spirituality/Theology to help make sense of why we're here and

Books on Money/Business/Entrepreneurship/Autobiographies so I can build something for my family. I want 5 kids and to run an orphanage/boarding school schollarship program part-time once I settle down.

I also like to read about charities. I'd eventually like to run my own charity so I can make a difference.

Heroes:

Everyday people who are able to step up and do amazing things when life throws them in the deep end. Single parents... my mum had it about as tough as you can get My little brother Andrew, no one in my life has challenged me the way he has. He's the reason I found my purpose in life. My little sister Tahnee, she always makes me feel special. I love being around my family. We're all crazy and it's always fun. Tahnee and I are so alike I feel sorry for her. That's why I take her under my wing. She motivates me to be a better brother.
