He has a the heart of a soldier and his eyes is set on success. Hollywood J is his name at the age of 19 years old he has already accomplished and defeated tasks in his way that many people don't get to accomplish for a very long time. Born Jarad Long In Chicago, Il on October 12, 1988, this young businessman/rapper/producer/and trend-setter Hollywood J or better known as J.Ellz spent a portion of his life on the eastside of Atlanta, Ga. He again moved back to chicago and began taking his music career to the next level. He began attending in local freestyle battles at a young age as his only way to express his love of music and worked his way to making a name for himself in Chicago. Although he went from party to party and club to club attending local battles he gained respect from the fans and the local rappers in the area. As time went on, the scene began to bore J as he did not accelerate his progression of music as he liked. He had no knowledge of the music industry or musical background other then the radio and his grandfather who was a guitar player who passed away in 2000. "I feel like my grand-daddy passed away physically but I really believe either his soul is still living in me or he is watching over me personally so I can carry on his love that he had for music." One sore fact about J that haunts him is that he has been sick since the age of 10. At the young age he was diagnosed with a rather common disease, "Chrones", which is an intestinal disease where the intestines do not function properly. Being admitted into the hospital for months on in over the years effected J in the worst way. He missed out on the things children cherish the most, growing up. "It hurt to think about everyone "outside" living normal lives, doing normal things. Just living. I wanted to be apart of that so bad, but I was in "there." I remember nights I sat up in bed alone crying. I ask god "why?" I didn't know then but it was for the best. To make me who I am today. To prepare me for right now. I thank god everyday for that."Later on he teamed up with a rap trio called the teamstaz and they began taking their careers to the next level."J" and the group attended many shows and high school functions where they showcased their talents and made guest appearences in many places as well as beginning to record their debut album. In High School Ellz gained much respect from his peers as well as gained many enemies for doing what many wanted to do and being successful at it. During Ellz' freshman year in high school, he started producing with a program called fruity loops. As the years went on Ellz realized that he was holding himself back from the stardom they he had always dreamed of.As time progressed, in school his social life was becoming to be a problem in his life conflicting with his music. Trouble soon fallowed J getting into constant trouble because of the influence around him. Due to the lack of participating and attending school J feel deeply behind in school and was on the verge of not graduating. Once he distanced himself from his peers he began making moves on his own. He began with re-making radio hits as well as old classic hip hop tracks and adding his "producers touch" on it. He made a big internet buzz with his remix to Gorilla Zoe's hit record "Hood Figga" as well as remixes from Omarion, T.I. and Yung Joc, to name a few. The interned also opened doors to promoting, marketing, selling beats, working with other local and nation wide recording artists as well as keeping in touch with his roots in atlanta, and networking with various companies. J has made a name for him self and still has more work a head of him. He specializes in a form of crunk music being an atlanta-bred artist with his own touch on it. Once he began making a buzz in the industry the phone calls wouldn't stop! Everyone wanted a piece of J so he had to sell his beats at a price that matched the quality of the beats. Now that J has moved back to his proclaimed hometown Atlanta he has been hard at work with his music and has recently found management from many managers and management companies as well as a few record labels as well. He has been on the road touring and performing in different cities and has been to many places he has only dreamed of from the always sunny skies of California to the huge city skies of New York. He is currently working on several tracks with a wide veriaty of artists stretching his name and resume from the dirty south all the way to the west coast! Also, he is planning to attend Georgia Perimeter beginning this up and coming Winer/Spring semester so if you attend Perimeter hit "Ya Boy" up!
