Rebel Muzik is a monthly night that takes place in Ladbroke Grove, West London. The Aim of the night is to provide a platform and creative environment for Artists, DJs and Appreciators to break bread, share art and inspire each other through the artform of Rebel Muzik.
Rebel Muzik began 3 years ago with a compilation put together by Mohammed Yahya of Blind Alphabetz, Uk's finest producer Jnr Sas and Sukina and Muneera from Poetic Pilgrimage. The album brought together the leading names in Hip Hop, Spoken Word and Soul in the UK at the time and what they all had in common was the dedication for using their artform to challenge the norms and stereotypes prevalent in this superficial music industry. The compilation was to be more than a CD but the soundtrack to a movement. As Allah would have it this didn't happen according to plan at the time but now three years later (and a few shahadas later Allahu akbar) with the additional member Marifah AKA DJ Ebonix the Rebel Muzik Showcase emerged. We intend for this to be a movement and a networking event also and hope to release Rebel Muzik CDs, DVDs and even a clothing label.
We intend this to be bigger than a little jam but a platform for freedom and expression. We kindly appreaciate any comments, supoort and feedback and any artists who wish to perform at out events please feel free to message us.
