I am here for Friends

About Me

~~R.I.P. Clay, Mercadies, Johnny, Sally, Mallory, and Marcus~~ My name is Ethan Grossman. I’m 17 and I have brown hair and eyes. God is first and foremost in my life. I do everything for Him and through Him. I am a country boy, through and through. Though I was born in the city and currently live there, this isn’t where I’m supposed to be. I am also a southern gentleman. I respect ladies and know how to treat them right. I don’t cuss at them or spit in front of them. In fact, I don’t cuss in front of anybody. My family has two claims staked in Texas – a farm in Van Zandt County in northeast Texas my uncle owns, and a piece of property in Llano County in the Hill Country that used to be my grandma’s. I want a farm somewhere near my uncle’s farm someday. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t dip, I don’t do drugs, I don’t go to parties, and I absolutely hate it when girls are referred to as “chicks”. I don't like the terms "hott" or "sexy" when being used to describe beautiful or gorgeous girls. I strongly believe they need to reinstitute the paddle in schools. Our youth are out of control and it’s scary to think that these are going to be the parents of tomorrow. I do not understand the concept of wearing thongs on a day-to-day basis. Relying on the two reasons I’ve been able to gather, it seems like a lack of faith for both. I haven’t been hunting or camping yet, but I love fishing and I absolutely love watching the sun rise and set. I like going on walks; around the farm when I'm there or just back around Clover Field. It helps me clear my head. I don't leave the seat up. I am currently holding down my first job – Pizza Hut. My mom and brother both work there as well, and my dad works there on the weekends. That being said, I have a mom, a dad, a younger brother, and an older brother, as well as four cats. The job I most want is to be a firefighter. I am currently the president of my local fire department’s Explorers Post. I also have interests in photography, editing, writing, reading, and drawing. I hope to have a book published someday because my English teachers always say I’m a really good writer; two of them have cussed because of it, lol! I write poetry and some songs every chance I get. An ancestor of mine was a famous author. I am considering becoming a certified welder because I hear they make pretty good money. I absolutely LOVE to help other people, particularly regarding their faith and their relationships. I have aspirations of becoming some type of youth pastor or spiritual advisor. I go to Hope Christian Reformed Church, www.hopehouston.org, and am active in the youth group, as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes in school. Also in school, I’m active in the army JROTC program. This year I am going to be the S-4 for the battalion, meaning I'm in charge of all the uniforms and their accessories. I love horses. I am EXTREMELY shy and always have been, even around little kids. Though I support our troops, I do not want to join the military. I probably will though, to pay for college. I would like to attend Texas A&M University but don’t know for certain if I will. Seminary is also in my interests. I love to laugh and make jokes; I have a HUGE sense of humor. I love to see other people happy. I am against abortion, homosexuals, illegal immigration, and crime in general. My dad used to be a police officer – as did my mom and most of my extended family work for the police – so I hold them in high respect. I wear boots nearly all the time. I'm old-fashioned in almost every sense of the word. I wear red every Friday in support of our soldiers. I get picked on A LOT!!! I am extremely mature and therefore don’t like most people my age. I can’t really relate to most of them, so I don’t fit in very well. People always tell me that they think I’m much older than I really am. I tend to like girls with braces. Though I’m not so good at it, I’m a year ahead in math, but I'm taking a break from math and science this year. I have horrible allergies and just recently had surgery to try and help it. I wear glasses but would like to wear contacts, as it's hard to wear sunglasses and I can't wear glasses when I fight fires. I've tried contacts but it was too much trouble for me; maybe later... I almost always have my shirt tucked in. I put 10% of my paycheck in the offering at church. I don’t like group work. I don’t have many friends. I love to work, especially if it involves manual labor. Work=Play for me, so sports aren’t very big. My favorite to play is basketball and my favorite to watch is NASCAR, followed by football. I always try to get cards for my friends’ birthdays. I dislike people who lie. I’ve been lied to pretty heavily in my lifetime, so honesty is a BIG thing for me.I am currently single. I’ve had only one girlfriend and for a while I thought that we would spend the rest of our lives together, but....ya know....people change, good things end. So yeah, I’m still trying to figure out what I do/don't want. I don't want to be back with her, yet I still love her so deeply. Haven't really moved on at all yet and it's been like a year and a half... Kinda just waiting for that next someone to come along and rescue me from all my pain and memories.Honestly, I don't really understand the whole concept of dating. I don't see how you get with somebody if you know you're just going to break up down the road. When I look for somebody, I look for somebody I'm compatible with, somebody I could be happy with. I'm not gonna get with somebody if they're drastically different because I know it's only going to cause fights and problems down the road. And I don't see how you can put boundaries on love, like "We'll go out for 6 months and then call it quits" or something like that. I'm not looking for someone to have a good time with or anything; I'm looking for someone who I'll be happy with. And if you're looking for that kind of person, there's no reason that y'all should ever break up. It should be that great of a person you look for... Just my two cents...

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet God and I know that I will someday. I'd also like to meet all the brave men and women who are fighting overseas currently. Meeting some country music stars or the president would be cool. I like George W. Bush, but honestly I think it's time for a change. This war has gone on WAY too long. I supported it at first, but now all our soldiers are just cannon fodder. We ain't makin' any progress.

Music:

Texas Country is the best! I also like alot of the stuff that Nashville cranks out lol, and I absolutely love the old country stuff. A little rock music feeds my soul every now and then, and bluegrass and southern rock aren't bad either. I used to listen to rap, so it doesn't really bother me, but I choose not to listen to it anymore.

Movies:

I don't watch that many movies...can probably count on one hand the number of times I've been to the theaters. Firefighter movies are awesome, despite being unrealistic, lol. Comedies are my favorite but crime dramas and whatnot are pretty cool too.

Television:

I'm usually watching CMT or GAC lol, but I love Family Guy and American Chopper. Survivorman other Discovery shows are cool. Cops and all those shows are sweet. I love watching the news.

Books:

The Bible. Nicholas Sparks is probably the best writer ever! lol. I've read all of his books. I like modern western books and other Christian books.

Heroes:

Christ because he died so that my sins could be forgiven; all the emergency workers and soldiers across the globe.

Sonnet for English

So today in English, Mr. Weatherton told us if we wrote a sonnet we could get 35 bonus points. Not that I need the points, but I like to write, so I did it. When he brought it back to me, he said, "Yo...
