Bezar

Lets talk about ‘Bezar’ the only surviving, original member and leader of 289 Family. As a lyricist Bezar is known for his clever/complex word play, unique vocal tone, hard hitting punch-lines, never ending catalogue of different rhyming flows (that stop critics from comparing his style to any artists already established in the rap game), original ideas & concepts for songs and the fact that he loves to write & spit and can drop lyrics on any type of beat or genre. Not satisfied with being a hip-hop artist Bezar is also a talented ghost writer of both rap & r’n’b, a producer, studio engineer and manages the affairs of 289 Family. Over the last few years Bezar has put 289 Family on his back and has continuously tried hard to get 289 Family the good exposure their deserve. We all know how hard it is to make ground in the Hip-Hop scene both in the UK and the US, so he has had his ups and downs, while promising to never give up or quit. (He knows a breakthrough will come one day, it’s destiny…..)

Who are 289 Family? 289 Family are not just another UK rap group or bunch of street artists thrown together to make a couple of tracks about how hard life is or what ends they’re representing. 289 is a brand and we plan to take several business industries by storm, starting with Music!!

All 289 members have extra talents that stretch way beyond being able to just rap, sing or emcee. Whether it’s (Ghost Writing Tracks, Producing, Teaching others to Rap or Sing, Talent Spotting, Organising Events or Helping to keep youths on the straight and narrow…..) There is a 289 Family member that has expertise in that field…

How did we come about the name 289? Firstly the 3 founding members of 289: ‘Uch-Man’, ‘AL-4’ & ‘Bezar’ lived in South West London. Their postcodes were SW2, SW8 & SW9 respectively. From here we joined the numbers together to make 289. Coincidently 289 was first established in February 1989 (2/89), so the name just fitted perfectly. After some busy years and then quiet years @ 289 (due to education, work and other commitments), we are now preparing to launch 289 as a brand, mainly through music and it’s related sectors. We have grown since 1989 and now have members all over London & in an around the UK.

What Aims & Goals do 289 have? Our main goals are to make ‘good’ music and make 289 a recognisable brand that has a positive influence on our community as a whole, regardless of race, colour or area code. We aim to take over the UK Urban scene with singles from our planned Group Album called “What 289 Means 2 Me..” and Bezar’s Solo Album called “The Day After, Lasts Nights Drama”. We hope to receive the right exposure and publicity, and love from the streets and also mainstream.. Other future projects include setting up a professional studio and a self-run record label called “289 Records” but that’s once we have a foot hold!!!!!!
