Band Members:Terry H.~~~ Vocals / Percussion. Mix a touch of sophistication with a full measure of downhome grit and you have the makings of the ideal front person for Sparxx. That's just what Terry imparts in her trademark vocals. As co-founder of the band, she puts all of her energy into making sure the band stays true to the nature of its business, and that is to deliver pure and honest entertaining music to the audiences that Sparxx plays for. She can often be seen at various local venues having fun and relaxation on karaoke nights or as a guest singer for a few Detroit area recitals.~~~ JD Kofahl ~~~ Drums / Percussion. As the other co-founder of the band, JD draws upon his many years of experience playing in different bands throughout the tri-county area as well as his rock steady drumming to keep the band tight. Mainly a bit quiet and reserved, he is anything but reserved when it comes to his approach to plying his trade as a drummer. JD is very skilled at using whatever the mood calls for,,, sticks, brushes, mallets, tambourine, and of course his drum set, to lay down the beat to the wide variety of music that you will hear the band performing. From a gentle country 'love ballad' to the pulsating tunes made famous by a lil' ole band from Texas, there is a bit of someting for everyone that comes to see Sparxx..!!~~~Roger Lawrence ~~~ Guitar / Vocals. Native of the area since 1963, started playing guitar at age 15. Was, and still is, a huge fan of Eric Clapton, Santana and Jimi Hendrix. He wrote his first of several songs, Southbound Train, in 1971 and won a Battle of the Bands in 1973 while in a local area group named Smackwater. Shortly after that, the band broke up and Roger quit playing for 22 years. He got back into playing about 8 years ago when a co-worker and good friend, Dave Wheaton, who is a talented songwriter / musician now residing in the Chicago area, encouraged him to "do something" with his original material. The two have been collaborating on an album project which they hope to have finalized for release next year. Roger is very proud to be involved with the other very talented members of Sparxx and is glad to be performing with them.~~~
