Soul Missive

Exuberant, to be sure, but experienced would be a more operative word to sum up Soul Missive – Southern California’s new bluesy pop rock group.
Young talent isn’t such a foreign concept in a music landscape dominated by teens pumping out MySpace singles on their laptops. But young talent that sounds as refined as these four do is a rarity.
Hailing from Murrieta, CA, the band started in June 2007 as the songwriting vehicle for three extraordinarily harmonious girls: Mary Loyd, Tara Honda, and Devon Eisenbarger. None of them claim the lead singer role, instead opting to weave a flowing vocal blend together over smartly-honed guitars.
In November 2007, the trio invited friend and drummer Jeffrey Wiegand to round out the current lineup. With added solidarity and flare, Soul Missive went on to prove how uncannily seasoned they are by winning Temecula’s Battle of the Bands in their first performance together.
They attracted the attention of the local press and Producer/Engineer Justin Gutierrez at Solunaris Studios, where they recently finished their debut studio recording. A sparkling documentation of their maturity as a band, new single “Outside Lookin In” is a soulful nod to influences K.T. Tunstall and John Mayer. But more aptly, they’ll draw comparisons as a female-driven counterpart to the fresh pop of Maroon 5.
One thing is clear: Soul Missive is a beacon for what new music should sound like – tight, energetic, and interesting.
