Eclectic Drummer

I have played music most of my life. At the age of 16 I started playing drum set in a local band in Ibague (Colombia) while at the same time I took drum lessons with drummer Julian Arteaga. I took music theory lessons at the Tolima conservatory of music in Colombia and after finishing high school I was accepted at Javeriana University's music department in Bogota Colombia. At the age of 22 I moved to Miami Florida where I studied at the Miami Dade College Music Department on a scholarship. I was a member of Jazz ensembles for 6 years and I also was part of the African percussion ensembles.
I am a freelance drummer and a music instructor. I do studio work and perform all around Florida as well as nationally.
Some of my drum and music teachers have been Julian Arteaga (1996), Victor Bastidas (2001), Johannes Bockwoldt(2002), Jose Lopera (2002), Javier Reyes (2002), Yoel del Sol (2004), Tim Kuchta (2005), George Mazzeo(2006), Mike DiLiddo, & Rick Doll.
I have been part of workshops and clinics taught by: Sakir Hussain, Greg Bissonette, Steve Gadd, Ignasio Berroa, Alex Acuna, Memo Acevedo, Richie Gajate Garcia, John Riley, Duffy Jackson, Vinnie Colaiuta, Ron Carter, Steve Smith, Jojo Mayer, Dave Weckl, Paul Wertico, Virgil Donati, Marco Minnemann, Richard Bravo, Nomar Negroni, Michael Gerber, Thomas Lang, Giovani Idalgo, Karl Perazzo and Horacio el Negro Hernandez. All the greatest in the world, whether I have studied with them in person or not, have influenced me and have given me lots of inspiration.
