About Me
..This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile EditorThe band was formed in September 1980.
Olho Seco has a great stage performance and show a lot of anger at their shows, and also strong and fast music. Their central theme is war. Many people are against that, saying that we don't have this kind of problem in Brazil, and bands should focus more on the issues we suffer day by day, but I believe there's nothing wrong with fighting against war, as a friend of mine says "although I've never been at war, it doesn't mean I can't sing about it". But the songs also talk about local problems, like "Haverá Futuro?", where they expose the lack of living conditions of the poor people, or "Nada", that is radically against the migration of people to São Paulo, because if the government gave them better conditions at home, these people wound't have to come here, and produce more unemployment and criminal activity. As I said, Olho Seco was supposed to quit after releasing the first record, but that didn't happen after the Grito Suburbano compilation, wich they shared with Inocentes and Cólera. Because of a lack of studio experience, Olho Seco couldn't present the sound they wanted (which by the way, none of bands could), the guitar ended up too trebly, and the sound came out strong, but without weight.Olho Seco is a Brazilian band that is having a lot of success abroad, especially in Finland. They were asked by X-CNT records, in England, to record a 7" with the song "Isto é Olho Seco", but Shesk (owner of X-CNT) wants them to sing in English. They answered saying that they'll do it, but only if it's in Portuguese, and don't know Shesk's response yet. We know that Olho Seco will participate in two compilations, one in Italy and the other in the U.S.A., but we don't know when they're gonna be released or which songs are gonna be included.Olho Seco is in the top-100 of the radio show Maximum Rock n' Roll in California. Now they just finished recording 3 songs that will be used in their first 7", to be released soon. They recorded in a 24 track studio, trying to get a better recording that the ones already made here in São Paulo. The songs are "Botas, Fuzis e Capacetes", "Nada" and "Muito Obrigado".
