Welcome to the International World of Mamady Sano! You are meeting one of the world's best, most exciting and most innovative dancers! As well, you are entering my world of international music and artistry, coming from my home town of Guinea, West Africa, where I was born and raised! For those who have not yet recognized the talent and energy of African art and music, you are in for a real eye opener!It is my mission to continue the work of my family in the world of traditional cultural arts and music, driven by my father's life mission to reposition the culture of Africa in teh world's eyes, through music and dance. Although my father has made his transition back to the spirit world, his work and legacy will last forever! My father, Mohamed Kemoko Sano, was brought to the capital of Guinea (Conakry) in the early 1950's by President Sekou Toure', to help create a national and international troupe of dancers and musicians who would create masterful stage presentations depicting the traditional culture that we live, growing up in the beauty of Africa! He worked tirelessly as the most famous choreographer and director of world reknowned groups, Les Ballets Africaines and Ballet Djoliba and formed his own group, Les Merveilles D'Afrique!
